It has been a very long week...

Bai Hua fell early Monday morning on the stairs. She had a really bad fall and started to seize. I called the ambulance imediately and we went to children's. She has contusions inside of her brain and she is still at children's recovering. At one point we were concerned that she had had a seizure and that is what caused the fall but it appears that her fall caused the seizure.

She is in the Rehabilitation center at Children's Hospital. So far she is doing well. We had to put her back on the IV yesterday because she was not eating or drinking and was throwing up. Today, there has been no throwing up and she is eating a drinking. Today is only a half day of Rehab so she gets to rest. Tomorrow she has no rehab. Monday she goes back to a full day. The light in all of this is that she will qualify for many different evaluations through children's and they will help me to work with the school on an IEP and other issues to make sure she has everything she needs. She is also in Physical Therapy with them (FINALLY). Kind of sad that you have to fall down the stairs to get physical thereapy in a reasonable amount of time. I will try to post here on what the results of our stay is. I should have some time this week to do this.

Wish us luck when the therapy starts full time (monday)! If you would like to send her a message, please go to http://www.nationwidechildrens.org/gd/applications/controller.cfm?&page=246 and use room number 3631. Her name with Children's is just Bai Hua Burleson. Upload a picture of yourself so that she can see your face. I know that she would LOVE this!

We will probably be there all week. There has been some talk that we might be there for 2 more weeks. It really depends on her recovery. We will know more on Tuesday.
